Job summary

A leading banknote manufacturing company in Pretoria is seeking a skilled production operator to produce high-quality coated products according to customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 certificate, an N4 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, and 1-2 years of experience in a similar operational role. Knowledge of printing industry principles and computer literacy is essential. The role involves ensuring compliance with quality standards and operating machinery according to established procedures.

  • Experience in coating/varnishing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Produce coated products as per set performance targets and quality specifications.
  • Ensure machines are operated according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Complete autonomous maintenance tasks on schedule.
  • Operate machines in adherence to SHE regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Highlight balancing issues to Section Head.
  • Ensure correct data entry into DCLink.

Purpose

Produce high quality coated products in accordance to customer specifications and SABN standards.

Main Responsibilities (not Limited To)
  • Produce coated products as per set performance targets and in full compliance with quality specifications.
  • Ensure that machines are operated according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Minimise wastage in every activity within set targets.
  • Ensure autonomous maintenance tasks are completed as per the schedule, and any defective performance is reported to Section Head.
  • Operate the machine in adherence to SHE regulations and legislation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Immediately highlight any balancing issues to Section Head.
  • Ensure correct entry of data into DCLink.
The Preferred Candidate Is Likely To Have
  • Grade 12
  • N4 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 1‑2 years’ experience within a printing/manufacturing industry, in a similar operational role.
  • Experience in coating/varnishing (advantageous).
