Job description

We are looking for two hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our team as an Operator in Screening Media.

The role will report into the Operations Manager and will be based from our offices in Crown Mines, Johannesburg.

Purpose of the role
  • Performs manufacturing and/or production operations – Injection Moulding, including assembly, machinery, processing, trimming and/or packaging.
The job responsibilities
  • Polyurethane / Rubber Injection Moulding machine operator.
  • Under general direction, responsible for the setup, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes.
  • Select, measure, and prepare raw materials and parts to meet production specifications.
  • Ensure correct and safe use of tools and equipment in the working area.
  • Inspect machining operations and finished products against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
  • Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming products.
  • Resolve production, machinery, processing, and/or packaging issues as they arise.
  • Perform minor machine troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Complete Works Orders and provide accurate KPI (Key Performance Indicator) information.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with 5S standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying potential problems and proposing solutions with support.
  • Complete additional tasks as required.
  • Important Performance Indicators:
  • Timely completion of work as per production plan.
  • Proactive identification of issues and effective problem-solving for continuous improvement.
  • Consistent achievement of quality and output targets at the workstation.
  • Responsible to operate within the health and safety requirements as prescribed by the Company and OHSAct.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Qualification from Plastics SA Academy would be beneficial.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar field.
  • Substantial experience within injection moulding and polyurethane moulding industry.

  • Basic understanding of screening media products.
  • Must be flexible and self-reliant.
