Operations / Warehouse Manager

Location : Cape Town

Salary Type : Annual Currency : Rand (R)

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the warehouse ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage inventory levels conducting regular stock checks and reconciliation to maintain accurate records.
• Implement effective warehouse layout and logistics strategies to optimize space utilization and workflow.
• Supervise and train warehouse staff promoting a safe and productive work environment.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics to evaluate staff efficiency warehouse operations and overall productivity.
• Coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers to facilitate timely deliveries and maintain supply chain integrity.
• Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance inventory status and other key operational metrics for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as environmental standards related to warehouse operations.
• Manage budgets control costs and identify opportunities for operational cost savings.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in logistics supply chain management business administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar operational role.
• Strong understanding of inventory management software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Excellent logistical and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate team members.
• Effective communication skills in English both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint).

Desired Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in a warehouse operations or management role.
• Experience within the leather or fashion industry is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement and project management.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and logistics / supply chain best practices.
