An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Operations Manager to join a dynamic and growing financial services company.
This position will oversee all operational functions of the business, with a strong focus on foreign exchange, cross-border transactions, exchange control, and regulatory reporting.
The successful candidate will lead the operations team, drive process and systems efficiency, and ensure full compliance with regulatory and exchange control requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the operations team to ensure smooth daily business operations.
- Oversee all foreign exchange and cross-border transaction processes, ensuring full compliance with SARB, SARS, and exchange control requirements.
- Liaise directly with regulators, lead regulatory audits, and maintain strong working relationships with oversight bodies.
- Own, manage, and maintain the Risk Management and Compliance Programme (RMCP).
- Prepare and review all statutory and regulatory reporting submissions.
- Implement and monitor operational processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency.
- Drive the effective use and adoption of systems and technology across the business.
- Support sales and business development meetings by providing operational and compliance assurance to clients.
- Identify, elevate, and resolve operational and risk management issues.
- Develop, mentor, and motivate the operations team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support management in business planning, audits, and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in operations management within financial services or forex / cross-border environments.
- In-depth understanding of SARB and SARS reporting and compliance frameworks.
- Strong background in risk management, compliance, and operational controls.
- Skilled in implementing process and systems improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
