Qualifications

Job description
Role Purpose

The Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of warehouse and distribution management to ensure operational excellence, adherence to standards, and high levels of customer satisfaction. The role requires strong leadership, planning, and organisational abilities to drive performance across multiple functions, including receiving, stock control, dispatch, and fleet management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage departmental supervisors across receiving, stock control, picking, loading, and dispatch.
  • Oversee receiving operations to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Maintain stock control and management processes, including daily and weekly stock counts of high‑risk items.
  • Ensure adherence to Warehouse Management System (WMS) procedures and standards.
  • Monitor picking and loading processes to ensure deadlines and quality requirements are met.
  • Manage warehouse and distribution staff, promoting productivity, discipline, and teamwork.
  • Maintain warehouse safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
  • Oversee fleet servicing, maintenance, and efficient route planning.
  • Assist in procurement processes to support operational continuity.
  • Ensure customer service standards are consistently achieved through effective order management and dispatch.
  • Manage the daily “status 7” report to track order progress and delivery performance.
  • Liaise with customers on order status and ensure proactive communication throughout the delivery process.
Role Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A relevant Management or Logistics qualification advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing people in a warehouse or supply chain environment.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
