Qualifications

• At least 5 years experience in a supervisory role within an operational or explosives mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Explosives Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, and OHS Act.
• Proven financial management and operational planning skills.
• Experience in SHERQ (Safety Health Environment Risk and Quality) management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Leading operational planning and resource management to meet customer demands efficiently and safely.
• Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations such as the Mine Health and Safety Act and OHS Act.
• Managing stock logistics and financial performance to support business objectives.

• Leading safety audits, risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety within the team.
• Developing and managing a high-performing team through coaching, training, and performance management.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader with a strong background in safety compliance and operational excellence.

Key duties include :

• Leading operational planning and resource management to meet customer demands efficiently and safely
• Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations such as the Mine Health and Safety Act and OHS Act
• Managing stock logistics and financial performance to support business objectives
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes and reduce costs
• Leading safety audits risk assessments and fostering a culture of safety within the team
• Developing and managing a high-performing team through coaching training and performance management
• Maintaining excellent customer relationships to exceed service expectations
• Preparing and presenting operational safety and financial reports to senior management

The ideal candidate will have :

• A Diploma in Mining Mechanical or Explosives Engineering
• At least 5 years experience in a supervisory role within an operational or explosives mining environment

• Proven financial management and operational planning skills
• Experience in SHERQ (Safety Health Environment Risk and Quality) management
• Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Blasting Certificate (MQA) and Advanced Blasting Course (advantageous)
