A nonprofit organization focused on disaster recovery is seeking an Operations Manager to lead their operations team. You will manage logistics, budgeting, and volunteer coordination, ensuring effective support for projects. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree, experience in international response, and strong project management skills. Position PurposeA versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school.
The position is full-time and is responsible for managing the operations team to deliver efficient and effective logistical support to the project teams.Start date ASAPReporting RelationshipsReports to : Program DirectorRoles reporting to position : Finance Coordinator, Volunteer Relations Coordinator, Logistics CoordinatorApproximate number of reports 2-3Essential Functions Provides supportive leadership, management and overall organizational planning to general operations of the program.Supports the Program Director in managing an operations team to meet the specific needs of the program in an effective and efficient way.Responsible for base and volunteer operations and working closely with the Project Manager to comply with field operation needs.Responsible for managing the operations team to deliver an efficient and effective program (base operation, financial management, volunteer coordination and engagement, etc.), to support successful project outputs.Supports the Program Director in setting, tracking and adhering to the General Operations budget in alignment with programmatic budgets and overall financial capacity.Supports Program Director in forecasting, monitoring, and reporting project cash flow, bank transactions, and expense auditing.Works with the Logistics Coordinator to organize and manage transport and telecommunications for teams in the field as well as managing local vendors, suppliers and support staff.Supports the Program Director in the development, implementation, and review of the program's Health, Safety and Security protocols and ensures these are communicated amongst the team.Ensure humanitarian principles and standards are considered and adhered to in all aspects of the program.Supports Program Director in compiling fortnightly program updates to the management team.Performs other duties as required.
Position RequirementsEducation Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceRelated Experience 1+ years experience working for All Hands and Hearts or another international response context.
1+ years managing a team.
1+ years experience project management, including budget tracking preferred.Special Competencies / Certifications Valid driving license required.
Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate visas.
Good written and oral communication skills (in English) and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets and Microsoft Office.
Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately.
