Company: TCPC Africa Location: Cape Town CBD, South Africa (Remote / Office)

Position Summary: TCPC Africa, the new South African arm of the UK-based The Cooperative Property Company, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations & Maintenance Coordinator.

This role is the central hub for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a significant segment of our UK property portfolio.

You will be the engine of our maintenance process, managing the entire lifecycle of work orders from initiation to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Intake & Triage: first point of contact for all incoming maintenance requests, log, acknowledge, and categorize each task.
  • Prioritisation & Planning: assess and organize all logged tasks based on urgency, tenant impact, and contractual requirements to establish a clear order of operations.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: central communication link, liaison with internal teams (such as Housing Support Officers) for task details and with tenants to schedule access and provide updates.
  • Workforce Coordination: plan and dispatch maintenance operatives (e.g., “man in a van”), effectively manage daily schedules to maximize productivity and meet response targets.
  • Process Management: oversee seamless execution of both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring all activities align with company standards and deadlines.
  • Closure & Documentation: ensure all completed jobs are formally closed out, document feedback from maintenance operatives and update relevant systems to reflect new status of each property.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in a coordination, administration, or dispatch role, preferably within property management, facilities, or a related field.
  • Experience with commercial or residential property portfolios is highly advantageous.
  • Must be extremely organised with superior ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a remote UK team and a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proactive, problem‑solving mindset with relentless focus on seeing processes through to completion.
