Placements24 is seeking an Operations Excellence Manager to drive continuous improvement at our Upington facility, leading lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and uphold quality across operations.

You will analyze data, manage improvement projects from concept to completion, and develop staff training on operational excellence while balancing on-site execution with strategic planning in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (required).

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Operations Excellence Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize operational processes at their facility in Upington . This role is critical for enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and productivity across all operations. You will be responsible for implementing lean methodologies, leading improvement projects, and fostering a culture of operational excellence. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to engage and motivate teams in a hybrid work setting that balances on-site implementation with strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of operations excellence strategies and initiatives within the organization in Upington .
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions using lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Manage and execute improvement projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and measurable results.
• Develop and deliver training programs on operational excellence principles to staff at all levels.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for enhancement.
• Collaborate with various departments to embed a culture of continuous improvement and operational best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management or process improvement, with a strong focus on lean principles or Six Sigma.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing operational improvement projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management capabilities.
• Green Belt or Black Belt certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is highly desirable.
