Job summary

A recruitment agency in South Africa is seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager for a client based in Johannesburg. The candidate must have a Millwright trade and at least 5 years of experience in operations and maintenance. Responsibilities include overseeing Health & Safety aspects, directing maintenance activities, and conducting site inspections. This role requires strong technical knowledge, especially in natural gas equipment and PLC programming.

Qualifications

Job description

Operations and Maintenance Manager - Jhb

Our client based in Langlaagte is looking for an Operations and Maintenance Manager to join their team.

Minimum Requirements

• Responsible for the operations and maintenance of Motherstation and customer sites (inclusive of customer sites in KZN)
• Millwright trade with a minimum of 5 years of working experience
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance
• Technical / Engineering, Projects and Operations knowledge is critical
• Implement existing routine maintenance programmes
• Provide monthly reports each month on the status of all assets

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance and Health & Safety aspects.
• Performing the day-to-day activities, directing technicians and interns required in the maintenance.
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain PRPs, Compressors, Boosters, Dispensers, piping (high pressure / low pressure), electrical on natural gas equipment.
• Perform mechanical skills: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, PLC and repair of natural gas equipment.
• Develop and or understand programming of PLC’s, Servo Controllers, Robotics, Vision Systems and Point of Sale.
• Develop and or understand human machine interfaces (HMI) using commercially available industrial products, SCADA nodes or custom GUI’s written in Visual Basic or Visual C++.
• Do monthly equipment and pipework inspections at all sites (i.e. site audits).
• Assist with training of new employees (Interns, Technicians).
• Develop and implement KPIs for all Technicians.
• Ensure that weekly and monthly reports are sent out on time.
