Job Advert Summary

An opportunity has arisen for an Operational Risk Investigator responsible for the implementation and execution of an operational risk framework. Ensures the collection of operational risk data including internal risk events and key risk indicators. Maintain and develop new stress test scenarios to evaluate the operational risks. Facilitates the risk and control self-assessment process to determine residual risk exposures. Drafts operational risk reports to management on risk events and exposures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities :

Investigations & Intelligence
  • Conduct and manage internal and external investigations including those from anonymous hotline reports.
  • Investigate and support insurance claims (including SARIA claims) to ensure accurate and timely case resolution.
  • Manage Covert Investigation Officers (CIOs) and recruit develop and oversee informer networks.
  • Coordinate intelligence information related to accidents criminal cases industrial actions and insurance matters.
  • Provide a centrally controlled intelligence function to safeguard company personnel and assets.
Security Risk Management
  • Conduct Security Risk Assessments and Security Audits across depots sites and operations.
  • Support management of physical and electronic security systems (e.g. CCTV alarms access control).
  • Render operational and intelligence support during strikes riots or protests including evidence collection strike diary maintenance and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) activation.
  • Advise business units on protest and public unrest risks implementing mitigation measures as needed.
Operational Risk Framework & Governance
  • Implement and monitor the Operational Risk Framework ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Identify review and analyze operational risks across all business units and develop strategies to prevent eliminate or mitigate them.
  • Facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) processes to determine residual risk exposures.
  • Develop and maintain key risk and control indicators (KRIs & KCIs) for early detection and control of operational risks.
  • Maintain accurate risk documentation policies and reporting dashboards for management decision-making.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
  • Prepare and submit operational risk reports detailing risk events trends and mitigation activities.
  • Conduct stress test scenarios to evaluate operational resilience and preparedness.
  • Support the development and implementation of security and risk policies procedures and standards.
  • Deliver presentations workshops and training sessions to improve risk awareness and mitigation capabilities across the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and controls to reduce exposure to risk.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in investigations risk or security roles (preferably in logistics transport or supply chain environments).
  • Proven experience conducting complex investigations and preparing formal reports.
  • Experience in risk identification mitigation and reporting frameworks.
Desirable
  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Risk Management Criminology Security Management or related field will be advantageous.
  • Certification in Operational Risk Management Security Management or Fraud Investigation (e.g. CFE CPP).Experience managing covert operations or informer networks.
  • Knowledge of insurance claims processes and business continuity planning (BCP).
