Job summary

Oxyon People Solutions partners with a well-established beverage manufacturer to recruit an experienced Operational HR Manager for its Heidelberg plant. The role covers full generalist HR in a unionised manufacturing environment, including employee relations, compliance, workforce planning, recruitment and development.

You will lead line manager support, manage disciplinary and grievance hearings, and drive HRIS accuracy and on-site engagement with analytics using Excel and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in HR, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, or a related field.
• 5–8 years' generalist HR experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a unionised manufacturing/FMCG environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and production operations.
• Proven experience in disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Strong union engagement and labour relations experience.
• Experience with workforce planning and Section 189/189A processes.
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical ability.
• Power BI experience will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of LRA, BCEA, EEA, Skills Development Act and B-BBEE Codes.
• HRIS experience; Psiber experience advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for line managers on HR matters.
• Manage performance, conduct, absenteeism and HR queries.
• Lead workforce planning and manage reductions when required.
• Coordinate site HR with GIWUSA and union meetings.
• Coordinate disciplinary and grievance hearings with fairness.
• Advise line managers on labour relations processes.
• Report Employment Equity, WSP and BBBEE compliance.
• Develop and implement site-specific HR policies.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly HR metrics.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and offboarding for the site.
• Support talent management and employee development initiatives.
• Maintain audit-ready HRIS records.
• Drive employee engagement and on-site wellbeing initiatives.
