Operational Finance Manager

Our client, a reputable audio‑visual equipment supplier, currently seeks to hire an Operational Finance Manager to join their growing team based in Midrand, Johannesburg.

This position reports directly into the Finance Manager with a dotted line to the MD.

Responsibilities

• Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to forecast sales, expenses, and cash flow. Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision‑making. Collaborate with department heads to develop and track budgets and financial goals.
• Cost Management: Monitor and analyse costs related to inventory, distribution, and operations. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability without sacrificing quality or service.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory planning and procurement to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing carrying costs. Implement inventory control procedures to optimise inventory turnover and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Operational Efficiency: Streamline financial processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. Identify and implement systems and tools to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows.
• Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• Relevant Degree (Finance / Accounting).
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial management, with experience in working with local and foreign currencies.
• Must have experience in an operational finance / financial controller / financial management and analysis function.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make data‑driven recommendations.
• SAGE / ACCPAC or similar systems experience.
• Must have interfaced with Logistics, Sales, Operations and Finance Departments.
