Optimi Learning is seeking an organized, passionate educator to join our Online School team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality Physical Science lessons for Grade 10-12 in a fully online, remote environment.

You will work in a structured online setting, emphasizing clear communication and continuous improvement, with regular feedback to learners and guardians. The ideal candidate will have a BEd or PGCE, 5+ years FET experience (3+ years in Grade 12), SACE registration, and strong ICT

Qualifications

• BEd or PGCE in related field.
• 5+ years teaching in the FET Phase, minimum 3 years Grade 12.
• SACE registered.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Experience with online teaching is advantageous.
• Proficient in MS Office and Google Chrome.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging online lessons.
• Monitor learner progress and provide interventions.
• Conduct extra classes and virtual sessions with learners and guardians.
• Mark assessments and track learner performance.
• Provide reports and feedback on learner progress.
• Participate in staff meetings and curriculum planning.

REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive subject knowledge and good teaching and assessment skills.
• Experience with online teaching (will beadvantageous).

DUTIES

• Monitor learner progress and provide interventions where needed.
• Conduct extra classes, masterclasses, and virtual sessions with learners and guardians.
• Mark assessments and track learner performance.
• Mark and moderate SBA components,analyzelearner performance trends, and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in the creation and delivery of formal assessments and subject-related sessions.
• Promote learner well-being andprovideappropriate educational guidance.
• Manage daily admin, including attendance, marks, and parent communication.
• Provide reports and feedback on learner progress.
• Participate in staff meetings and curriculum planning.
• Ensure efficient communication with learners, parents, and internal teams.
• Research and implement innovative teaching strategies and technologies.
• Engage in continuous professional development and knowledge sharing.
