Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Triathlon Coach to work in the Paarl area with a hybrid model of in-person coaching and remote plan management. You will develop personalized training plans, coach athletes directly, and guide performance improvements across Olympic distance and Ironman events.

The role requires a recognized coaching certification, 3–5 years of triathlon coaching experience, and strong knowledge of biomechanics, physiology, and sports nutrition.

Qualifications

• Certification from a recognized coaching body (e.g., Triathlon Australia, USA Triathlon, IRONMAN U).
• 3–5 years of triathlon coaching experience with a proven track record in Olympic and Ironman events.
• In-depth knowledge of biomechanics, physiology, and sports nutrition for endurance athletes.
• Proficiency in using training software platforms and analyzing performance data.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive, individualized training programs for Olympic and Ironman triathletes.
• Conduct initial athlete assessments to determine fitness levels, goals, and strengths/weaknesses.
• Provide technical coaching and feedback across swimming, cycling, and running.
• Monitor progress through data analysis (heart rate, power, pace) and regular communication.
• Educate athletes on nutrition, recovery strategies, and race-day execution.
• Adapt plans based on feedback and performance.
• Organize and lead group sessions, camps, and clinics.
• Stay updated on research and trends in triathlon coaching and sports science.
• Foster a positive and motivating coaching environment.
