Job summary

A leading stationery provider in Durban is seeking a Health and Safety Officer responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (SHE) standards. This role involves developing and monitoring safety policies, conducting inspections, and facilitating safety training. Candidates should have a National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, with at least 3 years of experience in an industrial environment. Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to safety management are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Solid understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation.
  • Experience in security monitoring and incident investigation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor OHS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Compile and communicate risk assessments and safe working procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and injuries, preparing detailed reports.
  • Coordinate and monitor safety-related training programs.
