Job summary

Haven Health Management’s Mondia Woodlands facility in Bloemfontein invites an Occupational Therapist to join our mental health team. You will assess, plan, and deliver therapy to improve daily living and participation in the community.

Responsibilities include group and individual sessions, patient meetings, and collaborative care with an interdisciplinary team. HPCSA registration and CPD maintenance are required.

Qualifications

• BSc Occupational Therapy completed (community service year)
• Maintain CPD standing as required by HPCSA
• Registered with HPCSA (independent practitioner & INSTOPP/OTASA) and Malpractice Insurance

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to determine therapy needs
• Lead group therapy sessions and individual sessions when indicated
• Participate in patient meetings and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Write accurate clinical notes documenting therapy interventions
• Provide client-centered care and crisis de-escalation when needed

An occupational therapist (OT) working in a mental health environment has a crucial role in helping individuals with mental health conditions achieve their maximum

potential in daily living and community participation.

Day to day responsibilities will include assessments, group therapy sessions, individualsessions, where indicated and patient meetings. Inter-disciplinary teamwork is a crucialpart of the day-to-day activities

REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

• BSc Occupational Therapy (community service year completed)
• Maintain CPD standing as required by HPCSA
• Registered with HPCSA (independent practitioner & INSTOPP/OTASA Membership and Malpractice Insurance)
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
• Relevant experience in Mental Health/Addiction environment advantageous
