Job description
Role Description

This is an on-site short-term contract role for an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner.

The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary health care services, focusing on occupational health.

This includes assessing and managing workplace injuries and illnesses, promoting and maintaining employee health and safety, conducting health surveillance, and working closely with employers to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Site

Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Period

September to February

Clinic Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 07:30 to 16:00 (Hours per Week: 24)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Management of the occupational health clinic
  • Management of the screening equipment
  • Occupational health risk assessments
  • Conducting medical examinations
  • IOD management
  • Clinic compliance
  • Clinic administration
  • Generating monthly reports
  • Conducting occupational health or primary health care talks as per the year planner or as required
  • Primary health care and chronic management
  • Incapacity and disability management
  • Dispensing medicine

Desired Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified in Occupational Health Nursing (Diploma / Degree)
  • Primary Health or clinical skills qualification will be an advantage
