Candidates are expected to have a BTech in Occupational Health Nursing and relevant experience in conducting various health assessments. Key performance areas : Perform medical surveillance and examinations to identify occupational health-related diseases within the City of Cape Town to ensure compliance with relevant OHS policies and related legislationCoordinate and perform risk-based pre-employment medical evaluations according to the employee job descriptions, job performance requirements and relevant legislation to determine employee suitabilityPerform specialised tests including vision testing, audiometry, spirometry and biological monitoring, in line with inherent job requirements of employeesCoordinate, implement and maintain an audiometry programme as part of the hearing conservation programmeMaintain accurate and confidential health records and informationCoordinate ill-health incapacity case management in compliance with relevant legislation and policiesConduct onsite health risk assessments to establish an exposure profile and ensure adequate medical surveillance in compliance with the terms of relevant legislationLiaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote and provide occupational health servicesIdentify and prioritise areas of research and participate in research programmes to keep abreast with the latest occupational health trendsSupervise administrative and cleaning staff.
