Function Nursing Facility Position Occupational Health Nurse | Fixed Term Contract Introduction A 6-month Fixed Term vacancy exists for an OHN.
The successful candidate will be responsible for rendering a quality occupational health service, which is effective and efficient, and exceeds customers' expectations for an Occupational Health clinic in Midrand, Gauteng.
The main purpose of this position is to be responsible for the management and provision of Occupational, Primary Healthcare, Emergency Care Services, at mine site in the area.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintenance of an Occupational Health program to establish the physical, psychological and social well‑being of the worker in a safe working environment.
- Monitoring the health status of employees through ongoing surveillance programmes according to the SOP.
- Providing information so the Client can utilize it to eliminate, control and minimise health risks and hazards to which employees may be exposed.
- Coordination of emergency procedures, supervision of clinic staff, and efficient administration within budget.
- Meeting the prescribed professional and quality standards of both Life Occupational Health and the Clients.
- Ensuring full client satisfaction through continuous improvement and added value.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO standards, including internal and external audits (Life Health Solutions as well as client audits).
Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualifications: General Nursing Professional, Occupational Health Nursing, B‑Tech / Diploma with 2‑3 years relevant experience post‑graduation in a manufacturing environment.
- Registration with SANC; must have current Occupational Health Nursing qualification on the SANC receipt.
- Sound knowledge in the provision of Occupational and Primary Health Care Services.
- Certificate in dispensing.
- Certificate in Competency: Spirometry, Audiometry certificate and registration as an Audiometrist with SASOHN.
- Vision screening, HIV Counselling and Testing.
- Current certificate in BLS.
- Computer literacy essential.
- Experience in administration and employee relations, good communication skills.
