A leading FMCG company in Gqeberha is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to enhance employee wellness and safety. Responsibilities include health assessments, wellness training, and monitoring chronic conditions. The ideal candidate has a Grade 12, relevant nursing qualifications, and 2 to 5 years of industrial experience. The position offers an hourly rate of R220 and is contracted for 5 months based on performance.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years experience in an industrial working environment as Occupational Health Nurse.
  • Indemnification against any nursing malpractice required.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses health status of employees as per legal job specifications.
  • Conducts wellness education / awareness training programmes.
  • Counsels employees on health-related issues.
  • Conduct drug tests and fit for work assessments.
  • Monitors employees with potential and chronic illnesses.

One of our leading FMCG companies based in Port Elizabeth is in need of an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join their team with the potential of working for them on a 5‑Month Contract based on performance and mutual fit.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performances for the role
  • The Occupational Health Nurse will contribute to the overall wellness and safety of all employees of the client by acting as a support to the HSE team in ensuring that systems and programmes promote the Safety and Health of our employees on site and the Environment.
  • The Occupational Health Nurse will report to the HSE Officer.
Requirements for the role
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Registered Nurse / Dip in Occupational Health
  • Registered with SA Nurses Council; Indemnity to practice with SASOHN and SA Nursing Council. Indemnification against any nursing malpractice.
  • 2 to 5 years experience in an industrial working environment in the capacity as Occupational Health Nurse.
  • Audiometry Certification
  • Spirometry Certification
  • Dispensary Certification
Duties
  • Assesses health status of employees as per legal and company job specifications.
  • Conducts / Facilitates wellness education / awareness training programmes.
  • Counsels employees on alcoholism drugs and substance abuse violence etc.
  • Advice and guidance all employees on Health and Safety related issues.
  • Conduct drug test and fit for work assessments.
  • Provide basic accident treatment and cover and communicate with HR relevant agencies.
  • Co‑ordinates employees assistance programmes (EAP).
  • Monitors employees with potential and chronic illnesses.
  • Audiometric testing as per legislation.
  • Compiles and circulates health care information.
  • Maintains departmental first aid boxes in terms of the General Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Maintains employees health care
