Job description
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily nursery operations to ensure a safe, caring, and productive environment.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly staff rotas to maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Monitor staff attendance and punctuality and address any issues proactively.
  • Review and validate nursery requisitions and supply requests to avoid errors or overordering.
  • Ensure all orders are necessary, cost‑effective, and aligned with the approved budget.
  • Conduct periodic inventory checks of toys, learning materials, and consumables.
  • Follow up on comments, corrections, or pending requisitions to ensure proper resolution.
Staff Supervision Development
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise nursery assistants and caregivers.
  • Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate with HR for staff development programs.
  • Foster teamwork, professionalism, and strong communication among all staff.
Quality Assurance Child Welfare
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children.
  • Maintain structured routines that support children's emotional, physical, and educational development.
  • Oversee hygiene practices and ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Address feedback or complaints promptly and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular observations of staff–child interactions to maintain high quality standards.
Communication Reporting
  • Serve as the primary liaison between nursery staff, HR, and senior management.
  • Provide regular reports on staffing, supplies, operational concerns, and overall performance.
Requirements

Proven experience in nursery management or supervisory role in childcare.
