Function Nursing Facility Position Nurse Manager Specialist Introduction
A vacancy exists for a Nursing Manager Specialist, based at Life St Dominic's Hospital, reporting to Nurse Manager Senior. The successful candidate will be responsible for the motivation of the company’s nursing operations and training strategy in the prescribed streamlined, standardized risk-based manner as the line manager for the enabling team.
Critical Outputs
Effective management of integrated quality and business process standards
- To consult with the Nurse Manager to ensure a clear understanding throughout the hospital to ensure general customer satisfaction
- To ensure the correct interpretation and classification of the complaint management policy
- Effective risk management practices in order to prevent routine action plans
- Effective clinical management practices in order to obtain the best clinical outcomes
- To manage stock and cost of sales to optimize cost saving opportunities
Effective management of all training programmes related to learners and qualified staff
- Actively participate in the selection process of learners and clinical training specialists
- Ensure effective utilization of a knowledgeable administrative resource for transactional work
To become an effective line manager for enabling team performance
- Function as a direct second in charge and assist the Nurse Manager
- To ensure effective, fair people management practices throughout the department
- Set and manage performance targets
Effective relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
- Promote and maintain productive, effective support to the Unit Managers
- To effectively provide feedback regarding customer complaints
- Market the image of the nurses and assist the team of doctor
Requirements
- Degree / Diploma in Nursing & current registration with SANC
- Post Basic Qualification in ICU or Theatre
- Post‑graduate qualification in Administration and Education would be advantageous
- 5 years proven leadership and management experience (ideally within private healthcare)
- Knowledge of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role‑players including understanding of relevant legislation and DOH core standards
- Knowledge and comprehension of nursing workload management & resourcing models
- Understanding of change management principles
- Computer literacy
- Driver’s license
