Placements24 client in Gauteng seeks a Lead Machine Learning Engineer (NLP) in Tembisa. You will lead NLP model design, development, and production deployment, building scalable ML pipelines and guiding a team of engineers and researchers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in ML with NLP, a Master's/PhD, strong Python, and hands-on NLP libraries (spaCy, NLTK, Transformers) plus cloud experience. Shape conversational AI and text analytics in a fast-growing AI solutions provider.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Linguistics or related field.
• 5+ years in machine learning with a strong NLP focus.
• Proven leadership of technical teams and complex projects.
• Strong Python and experience with NLP libraries (spaCy, NLTK, Transformers).
• Experience with model deployment and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of NLP models and apps.
• Architect scalable ML pipelines for NLP tasks.
• Mentor and manage ML engineers and researchers.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and PMs to define projects.
