Job summary

Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Observation Unit on the night shift. This full‑time role provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Team Leader.

Duties include taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, mobility, feeding and hygiene, maintaining infection control, and documenting care. TN CNA license and CPR certification are required, with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with patients, families and staff.
• Comfort with computer use and charting in hospital systems.
• Hospital experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, ambulation, meals and personal care.
• Maintain a safe and orderly patient environment; report changes to the RN.
• Assist with positioning, mobility devices, and basic nursing tasks as directed by the Plan of Care.
• Document care activities and maintain accurate patient records.
• Follow infection control policies and safety procedures at all times.
• Serve as a sitter for patients needing full-time supervision when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by unit leadership.
