The Night Manager at The Silo Hotel plays a crucial role in overseeing the activities of the hotel during the night shift. This individual is responsible for maintaining exceptional guest service standards throughout the night, while also managing the Night Audit team, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and a smooth handover to the morning team.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership and Shift Oversight
- Manage and supervise the Night Auditors and night shift team to ensure all tasks are executed to standard.
- Provide guidance and support to resolve operational challenges during the night shift.
- Ensure clear and detailed handovers to the Front Office Manager and other department heads.
- Manage conflicts within the team or with guests using effective resolution strategies.
- Anticipate and proactively address potential operational issues.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to night shift staff.
- Organize training sessions to upskill team members on operational standards, guest services, and security protocols.
- Schedule one-on-one check-ins to address staff concerns, monitor well-being, and ensure alignment with performance goals.
Night Audit Completion
- Oversee the auditing of all hotel charges, postings, and financial transactions, ensuring accuracy.
- Prepare night packs for accounts with full details and accuracy.
Guest Services and Issue Resolution
- Address and resolve guest inquiries, complaints, and emergencies promptly and professionally.
- Ensure guest wake-up calls, late check-ins, and early departures are managed efficiently.
- Maintain open communication with relevant departments regarding guest needs and movements.
Security and Safety Compliance
- Conduct routine spot checks to ensure the safety and security of the property.
- Monitor and manage CCTV operations, reporting any irregularities immediately.
- Ensure the safety of all staff and guests during emergencies by following proper procedures.
Property Management and Operations
- Ensure all operational systems, including the Property Management System (PMS), are utilized efficiently.
- Report and follow up on maintenance issues to ensure continuity of operation
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- A diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory/ management role within a 5-star hotel.
- Familiarity with night auditing processes, financial reporting, and guest relations.
- Proficiency in Opera PMS and financial reconciliation systems.
- Strong understanding of security and emergency protocols.
- Skilled in managing teams and delegating responsibilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
