Role Overview
The Network Engineer plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network infrastructures across OryxAlign and client environments. This role requires strong expertise in Cisco networking technologies, including Meraki and SD-WAN solutions. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal network performance, security, and reliability across multiple sites to ensure reliable service delivery and excellent customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Network Design & Implementation: Design, deploy, and manage Cisco-based network solutions, including Meraki and SD-WAN.
- Configure and optimise Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers.
- Ensure network architecture supports scalability, security, and performance goals.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and proactively address issues.
- Perform regular network assessments and security audits.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for network-related incidents and service requests.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Support compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Required Experience & Skills
- 3+ years experience in Networking within MSP or multi-tenant environments.
- Proven experience in enterprise network engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (CCNA/CCNP preferred).
- Experience with SD-WAN solutions (e.g., Cisco Viptela, Meraki, or similar platforms).
- Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPN, NAT, etc.).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualifications (Preferred, Not Mandatory)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting).
- Exposure to ITIL practices and change management.
