Role Summary
- We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Natural Sciences Teacher to join our Intersen Phase team from January 2026.
- The successful candidate will inspire curiosity, promote scientific thinking, and develop numeracy and problem-solving skills in students from Grades 5–7. This role requires a creative educator who is committed to nurturing each learner’s potential and contributing to the collaborative, forward-thinking culture of Reddam House.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Natural Sciences aligned with IEB standards.
- Establish a nurturing classroom environment that fosters inquiry, curiosity, and student engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, assessments, and cross-curricular initiatives.
- Support students through academic clinics and co-curricular activities each week.
- Set and mark assessments, providing constructive feedback to support student growth.
- Contribute to school life through involvement in events, assemblies, and community initiatives.
- Evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice to ensure continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and commitment to Reddam House values.
The ideal candidate will have
- A university degree with a major in Natural Sciences.
- Certified teaching status and SACE registration.
- Legal right to work in South Africa.
- Minimum 4 years’ successful teaching experience (Intersen Phase preferred).
- Proven track record of teaching Natural Sciences.
- Familiarity with the IEB curriculum.
- Proficiency in using technology in teaching and learning.
- Strong assessment, differentiation, and feedback skills.
- A passion for education and student development.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A growth mindset and openness to feedback.
- Commitment to innovation and professional development.
