Job summary

A financial services company in Johannesburg is looking for a Credit Manager to oversee credit functions and ensure effective collections and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of credit control experience, strong team leadership skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. This role is pivotal in enhancing financial performance and supporting business growth.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in credit control / debtors management, preferably in FMCG.
  • 7+ years overall experience in Credit Management with proven team leadership.
  • Experience in the auto finance industry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits and terms.
  • Monitor accounts, manage collections, and resolve overdue payments.
  • Identify and mitigate credit risks through regular analysis and monitoring.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams to resolve credit matters.
  • Prepare and present credit performance reports and insights to management.
  • Ensure compliance with all credit laws, policies, and internal controls.
  • Lead and support the credit team to achieve performance targets and maintain service standards.

Requirements :

  • 7+ years overall experience in Credit Management with proven team leadership
  • Experience in the auto finance industry is advantageous
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables)
  • Knowledge of credit scoring models, risk assessment, financial analysis, and collection processes
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
