Placements24 is seeking a skilled Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage cloud-based network solutions across multi-cloud environments. You will work on secure, scalable infrastructure, automation, and performance optimization within Port Elizabeth-based operations.

The role requires deep experience in cloud networking, IaC, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, high-performance services for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on cloud networking.
• Proven experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their networking services.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, BGP, and other networking protocols.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Knowledge of network security principles and best practices in cloud environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer Associate are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable network infrastructure within cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Implement and maintain virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing tables, and security groups.
• Configure and manage network services such as load balancers, VPNs, and firewalls in cloud environments.
• Develop and automate network deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for speed and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures.
• Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to ensure optimal network performance for cloud-based applications.
• Stay current with cloud networking trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Ensure network security best practices are implemented and maintained in the cloud environment.
