About the Role

Monocle is looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Consultant. You will be part of a dynamic environment, solving complex problems and delivering mission‑critical projects to leading banks and insurers across Johannesburg, Cape Town, London and Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solving complex, industry‑specific problems
  • Conducting business analysis and documenting requirements
  • Performing data analysis and data mining on large datasets
  • Documenting functional and technical requirements for large system implementations
  • Designing and implementing management reports and dashboards
  • Writing, reading and analysing various computer programming languages
  • Spiling reports and presentations
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders and clients
  • Continuously developing business knowledge and technical skills in the areas in which Monocle provides consulting services
Qualifications
  • Hold a degree, with strong preference for a postgraduate qualification
  • Have two or more years of relevant experience in the financial services industry
  • Have subject‑matter knowledge in banking and/or insurance
  • Relevant consulting experience with banks and insurers (advantageous)
  • Good technical skills, including experience with SQL, SAS, Python and Business Intelligence applications (advantageous)
  • Professional qualification in finance and risk management (e.g., CFA, FRM) (advantageous)

  2. P&C Meet and Greet: Meet With People & Culture representatives
  3. Executive Interview: Discuss skills, business knowledge, experience, project fit and role requirements
  4. P&C Executive Interview: Ensure alignment of expectations and discuss next steps
  5. C‑level Interview: Discussion with CEO, COO or CFO on various topics
  6. Finalisation: Final offer is made by the P&C team
