Job summary

RTG TECHNICAL SERVICES, STEELPOORT seeks a Trailer Technician to perform daily trailer services per OEM specs and respond to breakdowns on and off site. You will inspect trailers, conduct 15-minute checks, and document work via job cards and workshop applications.

Strong focus on safety and ISO-standard maintenance is required. From Steelpoort to depot or road, you will prioritise operational requests, identify technical deficiencies, and collaborate with the Workshop Manager to implement

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years' experience in this specific field.
Trade certificate in related fields will be beneficial.
Must have welding experience.
Valid driver's license (applicants without a driver's license will not be considered).
Own vehicle required to travel from home to work.
Must reside in the STEELPOORT area.
Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Responsibilities

Carry out services to trailers daily, as per the OEM specifications.
Attend to breakdowns on the trailers in depot, on the road, normal and after hours when required.
Inspection of trailers before/after work is performed, also carry out quality checks daily (15-minute checks).
Accurate completion of job cards and workshop applications.
Maintain a high level of technical serviceability of the trailer section by quality work and preventative maintenance in conjunction with the ISO standard.
Responsible for timely prioritization of all operational requests, recognizing technical deficiencies, and implementing effective solutions with the Workshop Manager.
