Job summary

Placements24 in George, Western Cape seeks an experienced MLOps Engineer to bridge ML development and production deployment. You will design and maintain scalable pipelines, automate the ML lifecycle, and implement CI/CD for ML models, ensuring reliable, monitored deployments in hybrid office settings.

You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers, manage cloud-based infrastructure, and uphold best practices for reproducibility and testing in ML projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years in software engineering or DevOps with a strong focus on MLOps.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their ML services.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of ML concepts, model development and deployment challenges.
• Familiarity with ML monitoring tools and techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable MLOps pipelines for model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Automate and optimize the machine learning lifecycle, from data ingestion to model retraining.
• Implement CI/CD practices for machine learning models.
• Develop and manage infrastructure for ML experimentation and production environments.
• Monitor model performance in production, identify drift, and retrain/update models.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to ensure smooth deployment and integration.
• Establish best practices for version control, testing, and reproducibility of ML projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ML systems and infrastructure.
