Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton, Gauteng, is seeking motivated individuals to join its Trainee Millwright Apprenticeship program. This role offers hands-on training across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems under the guidance of experienced mentors.

You will assist, learn, and perform installation, maintenance and repair tasks on industrial equipment, while completing formal coursework. Successful trainees may progress to permanent positions and develop a highly valued artisan skill

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial machinery.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work systematically.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced millwrights with installation, maintenance and repair of machinery.
• Learn to read mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and blueprints.
• Operate hand and power tools, including welding and cutting equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and reassemble machine components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical/system failures and adhere to safety policies.
