Job summary

South African Airways is seeking a Millwright for a 12-month fixed-term contract based at Kempton Park, Gauteng. You will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install electrical, mechanical and electromechanical equipment to ensure reliable facility operations.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, installation, testing, and documentation, while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Red Seal Millwright trade certificate.
• Grade 12/Matric or equivalent at NQF Level 4.
• 2–3 years' experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment faults and breakdowns.
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure equipment functionality and reliability.
• Replace defective components and restore equipment to operational condition.
• Install, commission, and maintain machinery and equipment as required.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify maintenance requirements.
• Minimise equipment downtime through timely maintenance interventions.
• Report recurring faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety requirements and safe working procedures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, engineering standards, and company policies.
• Identify and report safety hazards and equipment risks.
• Complete maintenance job cards, inspection reports, and service records.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
• Report equipment defects, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Liaise with internal departments regarding maintenance requirements and equipment downtime.
