Job Purpose
The Millwright will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing all mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment in the flour milling plant to ensure maximum equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on milling equipment (e.g., roller mills, sifters, blowers, conveyors, pneumatic systems, compressors, and packaging machines).
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize production interruptions.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment is operating at required efficiency and safety standards.
- Carry out machine alignments, installations, and overhauls as required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job cards according to company procedures.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth running of operations.
- Comply with plant safety, food safety, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical input for equipment upgrades.
- Ensure spare parts are requested, used efficiently, and maintained in good condition.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognized Millwright Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Millwright in a milling, FMCG, or manufacturing environment (flour milling experience advantageous).
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and GMP standards will be an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Computer literacy (maintenance systems and MS Office).
