Position Overview

This position is a full-time assignment teaching Middle School Science and Mathematics.

The Middle School Science Teacher develops and implements engaging science instruction for students in grades 6-8, fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and a love of discovery. This position creates hands-on learning experiences while following NGSS standards and supporting students’ developmental needs.

The AISJ Middle School Math program uses the Common Core Curriculum Standards. As a math teacher at AISJ, you are looking to inspire students in mathematics and instill the foundation needed for success. You should look for real-world applications, yet understand all students need the fundamentals to allow success to happen.

The Middle School operates on an 8-period rotating block schedule, and teachers are assigned to teach 6 of 8 blocks. Each Middle School Teacher is also responsible for an Eagle Forum cohort, which is integral to the Middle School experience as well as participating in our FLEX and Club programme

Preferred Qualifications
  • Secondary license or certification for teaching Science / Mathematics
  • Bachelor or higher Mathematics / Science
  • Bachelor of Education or higher
  • Secondary license or certification for teaching Mathematics or Science

Work Hours

Monday through Friday – 188 (one hundred and eighty-eight) days per school year
