About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, is seeking a Metrology Technician to join their Quality Assurance – Vehicle Analysis Division. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with strong technical accuracy and a passion for precision engineering.

As part of the QA Vehicle team, you will be responsible for conducting dimensional measurement and analysis of vehicle components to ensure alignment with technical drawings and specifications. Your insights will directly support the part approval process for internal and external suppliers, contributing to the overall product quality and successful component release at key project milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct dimensional measurement of vehicle components to confirm conformity to design specifications.
  • Perform detailed analysis to support the approval process of internal and external supplier parts.
  • Provide dimensional problem-solving and analytical input to address production concerns.
  • Support the approval and release of components during product development milestones.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure correct application of dimensional metrology methods aligned to ISO/VDA standards.
  • Design and develop measuring fixtures to support testing and validation.
  • Maintain and program CMM facilities (offline and teaching).
Minimum Requirements
  • National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ metrology measurement experience (tactile or optical).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with measuring software (PC-DMIS, GOM, Polyworks).
  • Strong CAD knowledge (preferably Catia).
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with CMM maintenance and TPM practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and design measuring fixtures.
  • Sound understanding of vehicle manufacturing processes (Press Shop, Body Shop, Assembly, Purchased Parts).
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and analytical thinking skills.
