Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Technician role based in Nelspruit.

The Technician will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and calibration of weather observation instruments, monitoring equipment performance, and troubleshooting technical issues to ensure accurate data collection.

Day‑to‑day tasks also include installation and inspection of meteorological instruments, performing system diagnostics, and collaborating with team members to meet quality and operational standards.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in technical diagnostics, equipment maintenance, and calibration techniques
  • Experience in the installation and operation of meteorological or technical instruments
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting related to instrument performance
  • Flexibility to travel and work under field conditions when necessary
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate technical information effectively
  • Technical diploma or equivalent in electronics, instrumentation, or a related field
  • Knowledge of meteorological data systems or experience in a weather observation environment is an advantage
