Qualifications

• Previous sandblasting experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of surface preparation and abrasive blasting techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and work according to specifications.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to comply with all health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces.
• Remove rust, old paint, scale, dirt and other contaminants from metal surfaces.
• Prepare surfaces according to job specifications and quality requirements.
• Inspect completed work to ensure the required surface finish has been achieved.
• Maintain and clean sandblasting equipment, hoses, nozzles and related tools.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep the work area clean and organised.
• Report equipment faults, safety concerns and any quality issues to the supervisor.
