Responsibilities

As our Meetings and Events Specialist, you are an inspiring, empowering and results‑orientated leader with a passion for service excellence whilst maintaining standards and exceeding departmental goals.

  • Apart from facilitating the communication and implementation of deliverables and forecasted events and business, you will also consolidate and track timelines for various events in consultation with various operational teams.
  • You will review and manage the processing of quotes, contracts, and function sheets to ensure quality standards. Part of your role will be to assess and manage venue inventory alongside the HOD and Operations Team to evaluate event business and maximise revenues.
  • You will create event proposals which fit client requirements and present these within a 12 – 24‑hour turnaround time. You will also demonstrate to clients a strong knowledge of hotel venues, facilities, and additional offerings, issue invoices and follow up on payments prior to the arrival of the clients.
  • Hosting site inspections and creating sales opportunities for future events during client engagements will also form part of your role.
Qualifications
  • Matric Certificate, and a relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised South African or International Educational Institution.
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy, high‑demands environment.
  • Excellent product knowledge of the hotel and surrounding areas.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
