Mintek has an exciting career opportunity for a Medical Surveillance Technician to deliver compliant, high-quality occupational health screening services, in alignment with national legislation, SANS codes, and Mintek's internal quality standards.
The Technician must ensure accurate clinical data capturing, participate in continuous professional development, and uphold ethical, legal, and performance standards across all areas of practice.
Conduct and log daily biological calibration of spirometers and audiometers in accordance with SANS and SANS.
Perform monthly mechanical calibrations and record all outcomes in calibration logbooks.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure expiry date management of consumables.
Report faults or failed calibrations immediately to the Equipment Officer and halt use until resolution.
Capture all medical data and screening results accurately, timorously, and completely on IFS.
Ensure all required forms and assessments are completed and linked.
Errors are corrected proactively or escalated promptly.
Booking appointments for initial and routine health surveillance, health screening, management referrals and primary health care cases.
Managing the OH clinic phone calls.
Manning the front desk.
To ensure that filing is done in a timely and accurate manner.
Capturing of clinic data.
E-mailing and sending out of letters, reports associated with the OH function.
Ordering / stock level responsibilities, booking meeting rooms, supporting OH nurses with preparations for wellness events.
Adhere to SHEQ procedures.
Participate in monthly clinical audits and quarterly performance reviews.
Remain up to date with industry legislation, medical technologies, and screening best practices.
National Diploma: Nursing or relevant.
Minimum 2 years' experience in an occupational health clinic or mobile service environment.
