Job Summary :
The Medical Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting and selling Tri Pharma's range of high-quality medical laboratory devices (equipment and instrumentation) and ophthalmology solutions to healthcare professionals and institutions within a dedicated sales territory. This role requires leveraging existing medical device sales experience to drive revenue growth, provide exceptional technical support, and foster long-term client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy and Execution
- Achieving and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets for the assigned portfolio of laboratory and ophthalmology capital equipment and
- Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans to maximize market penetration across public and private clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and military / municipal
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities while actively growing and defending existing accounts.
- Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and market intelligence reports using the company's CRM
- Product Knowledge and Technical Support
- Maintain expert-level technical and clinical knowledge of all promoted medical devices and
- Conduct compelling, professional product demonstrations, installations, and technical presentations to clinicians, laboratory technicians, procurement teams, and hospital
- Consult customers to understand their clinical work?ows and operational needs, positioning Tri Pharma's products as the optimal
- Collaborate with the Service and Applications teams to ensure e?ective post-sales support and customer training, thereby increasing customer satisfaction and repeat
Account Management and Relationship Building
- Build, nurture, and maintain strong, professional relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders (e.g., Doctors, Ophthalmologists, Lab Managers, Procurement Heads).
- Strategically navigate complex sales cycles within hospitals and public institutions, understanding procurement processes, including involvement in the tender process alongside the Tender Administration team.
- E?ectively manage territory budget and operational
Qualifications & Experience
Required :
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant ?eld (e.g., Biomedical Technology, Life Sciences, Business, Marketing).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of successful ?eld sales experience in the Medical Device, Laboratory Equipment, or pharmaceutical
- Demonstrable experience selling capital equipment (e.g., analyzers, diagnostic instruments, surgical devices) with complex sales
- Proven ability to meet or exceed established sales
- Familiarity with the South African public and private healthcare procurement
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal
- A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned
Desired Attributes
- Technical background or experience in a laboratory or clinical setting is a strong advantage.
- Experience with Ophthalmology devices or consumables is highly bene?cial.
