Job summary

A specialist ophthalmology practice in Alberton is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist. The role involves managing patient appointments, switchboard duties, and medical administration tasks.   • Checking consent forms are signed.
  • Typing of medical letters.
  • Stock taking.
  • Ensuring referral letters are received and filed.

Our client, a Specialist Ophthalmologist based in Alberton, is seeking to recruit a mature and experienced medical receptionist.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receiving all patients, walk-ins and service providers
  • Switchboard duties (Day/Night switch, incoming and outgoing calls)
  • Appointment diary bookings and management confirming all appointments and cancellations
  • Managing on-call list
  • Administration and filing duties
  • Medical aid liaison
  • Checking consent forms are signed
  • Typing of medical letters
  • Stock taking
  • Ensuring referral letters are received and filed
Qualification and Requirements
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar medical receptionist position
  • Experience in an ophthalmology practice will be advantageous
  • Experience with Elixir Live and/or GoodX is preferred
