Job summary

A reputable medical practice in Pretoria East is looking for a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist. This full-day role requires experience in medical administration and the ability to deliver excellent patient service. The successful candidate will manage patient appointments, greet patients, and perform general administrative duties. Ideal qualifications include a Matric certificate and experience in a medical practice. Proficiency in Elixir Live is essential.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in at least two languages (bilingual).
  • Previous experience working in a medical practice.
  • Experience in debtors accounts / medical billing.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage calls via the practice switchboard professionally.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments including coordinating external referrals.
  • Monitor and respond to emails received via the practice's administrative email account.

Introduction

Our client, a well-established and reputable General Practitioner based in Pretoria East, is looking to appoint a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join their dedicated team.

This full-day role is ideal for a candidate with experience in medical administration and a strong passion for delivering excellent patient service.

Duties & Responsibilities

Answer and manage calls via the practice switchboard professionally. Schedule and manage patient appointments using Elixir Live, including coordinating external referrals. Monitor and respond to emails received via the practice's administrative email account. Send appointment reminders (calls and SMS) to patients. Greet patients warmly and collect personal and medical information. Process payments and issue receipts electronically. Maintain both electronic and physical filing systems. Coordinate and manage medical aid authorisations, complete and submit PMB application forms and other relevant medical aid documentation. Perform general administrative and reception duties as required by the employer.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Skills and Attributes: Strong administrative and organisational skills. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Professional, courteous, and able to work well under pressure. Team player with a positive attitude. Non-smoker.

Requirements: Matric certificate (Grade 12). Previous experience working in a medical practice. Experience in debtors accounts / medical billing (follow up on outstanding accounts and co-payments). Proficiency in Elixir Live software (Essential). Fluent in at least two languages (bilingual). Tertiary education in a related field will be advantageous but is not mandatory.

Package & Remuneration

Working Hours: Monday – Friday : 08H
