The ideal candidate must have a Medical Degree and at least two years of clinical experience. Immediate availability is preferred. Job description
Main Purpose of the Job

To provide comprehensive medical care / clinical support to participants in HIV Prevention (and similar) clinical trials at the PHRU.

Location

PHRU, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto.

Key Performance Areas
  • Provision of clinical care to patients and participants
  • Accurate and comprehensive medical record keeping
  • Management of patient / participant flow in the clinic
  • Clinical trial conduct as delegated by the principal investigator
Required Minimum Education and Training
  • Medical Degree - MBChB / MBBCH
Professional Body Registration

HPCSA registration.

Required Minimum Work Experience

At least two-years experience in a clinical environment (can be inclusive of internship / community service time).

Must be able to start work immediately (preferably).

Desirable Additional Education, Work Experience and Personal Abilities
  • Must be registered with MPS
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subjects Protection (or equivalent) certification
  • Research experience with experience in HIV Prevention trials, HIV treatment and general patient care
  • Empathy and understanding
  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Computer literacy using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
