The Medical Doctor – Aesthetic Brand Manager provides medical and strategic leadership in the development, positioning, and growth of aesthetic injectable brands.
This role bridges clinical expertise with pharmaceutical brand management, driving evidence-based marketing strategies, stakeholder engagement, and ethical promotion within the medical aesthetics space.
The position plays a key role in shaping brand strategy, supporting sales execution, and ensuring regulatory compliance while advancing innovation in aesthetic medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Research and Analysis
- Conduct in-depth market research to understand trends, dynamics, and opportunities within the medical aesthetics and injectable market.
- Analyse competitor strategies, product positioning, and market share.
- Identify emerging markets and new target demographics.
- Product Knowledge and Medical Expertise
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of aesthetic injectable products, including formulation, clinical application, benefits, risks, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with global and local developments in medical aesthetics and injectable treatments.
- Brand Strategy Development
- Develop and implement brand strategies to strengthen visibility and market positioning of aesthetic injectable brands.
- Differentiate products clearly from competitors through evidence-based messaging.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align brand strategy with product development and market needs.
- Marketing and Promotion
- Design and execute compliant marketing campaigns targeting healthcare professionals and, where permitted, consumers.
- Manage digital marketing initiatives including content development, social media, and online campaigns where allowed.
- Develop educational and promotional materials for both practitioners and patients.
- Sales Enablement and Collaboration
- Support the sales team with medical insights, training materials, and strategic tools to enhance selling effectiveness.
- Monitor sales performance and refine marketing strategies accordingly.
- Participate in field engagement to understand customer needs and gather market feedback.
- Regulatory Compliance and Ethical Marketing
- Ensure all marketing activities and materials comply with applicable regulatory and ethical standards, including SAHPRA requirements.
- Promote products responsibly with accurate representation of benefits, limitations, and safety information.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Networking
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including aesthetic practitioners, trainers, industry experts, and key opinion leaders.
- Participate in industry events, congresses, and workshops to strengthen brand presence and remain informed of industry trends.
- Budget Management and Reporting
- Manage the allocated brand marketing budget effectively.
- Track and report on brand performance, marketing return on investment, and key market insights to senior management.
- Customer Feedback and Product Improvement
- Gather and analyse customer and practitioner feedback on product performance and market reception.
- Collaborate with internal medical and business development teams to support continuous product improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- MBChB (Medical Degree) required, with active or prior clinical experience in medical aesthetics.
- Experience working within the medical aesthetics field, with established relationships in the aesthetics community, including exposure to trainers, key opinion leaders, and aesthetic practitioners.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret clinical data and translate medical science into strategic brand insights.
- Strong understanding of clinical science, product data, and evidence-based medicine.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking ability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across marketing, medical, sales, regulatory, and digital teams.
