Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our East London facility to optimize manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement. You will work hands-on with production lines, troubleshoot issues, and implement new manufacturing technologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, and CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/SolidWorks). Knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, and automation is desired.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years in manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient in CAD for tooling/fixture design and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining, stamping, injection molding and assembly processes.
• Experience with automation/PLC controls and lean Six Sigma methods is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the automotive component manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer with expertise in manufacturing processes to join their facility in East London . This role is essential for optimizing production efficiency, improving product quality, and implementing new manufacturing technologies. You will work hands-on with various production lines, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical principles applied to manufacturing environments, including tooling, automation, and process control. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Design and procure new tooling, fixtures, and equipment required for production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and process-related issues on the production floor.
• Conduct process capability studies and implement statistical process control (SPC).
• Collaborate with the R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide training to production staff.
• Evaluate and integrate new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with safety regulations and company quality standards.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to drive lean manufacturing initiatives and overall operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with a focus on process development and optimization.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for tooling and fixture design.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, injection molding, and assembly.
• Experience with automation, robotics, and PLC controls is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and hands-on approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with production teams.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with quality control tools and techniques.
