The role demands strong CAD skills and experience in related industries. Join us and contribute to innovative aerospace projects in a dynamic team environment.
Exciting opportunity alert! 👨 🚀🚀
We are looking for a mechanical engineer to join our team full-time in Stellenbosch, and to help build world class satellite control systems. The products we build are a complex mix of electronic, electromagnetic, mechanical, optic, firmware, software, control systems, and mathematical model design.
We are looking for people who think out of the box, solve multidisciplinary problems, can work well in a team, and have a passion for design.
As a mechanical engineer in CubeSpace, it will be your responsibility to design test jigs, support equipment, specialised tooling and enclosures and support for products. These designs will also have to be qualified for the space environment, especially vibration-, hock- and thermal vacuum testing. This role will also be heavily involved with third-party suppliers to have parts made to specification. The ideal candidate will be a highly efficient individual that can take responsibility and be a proactive contributor to the team, a passionate mechanical engineer who enjoys getting their hands dirty, with a practical approach.
At CubeSpace, you will have the opportunity to join a fun, dynamic company in the space industry. Finding it's routes as a spin off from the University of Stellenbosch, and evolving to become a world market leader in the supply of control systems to the rapidly expanding Small satellite market, CubeSpace has assisted in putting South Africa on the international map of world-class aerospace component development and supply.
