Job description

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who can operate in either a design-focused role or a project-focused role within a heavy industrial and mineral processing environment. The position involves mechanical design, equipment development, engineering analysis, project coordination and hands‑on support across fabrication, assembly and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Design Engineering

• Produce 3D models, detailed drawings and bills of materials
• Develop mechanical components, assemblies and complete equipment
• Conduct engineering calculations and ensure structural and mechanical integrity
• Support fabrication teams by resolving design queries and checking manufacturability
• Participate in design reviews, QA checks and client inspections

Project Engineering

• Coordinate engineering activities from design through fabrication and delivery
• Manage project timelines, documentation and supplier interactions
• Support site measurements, installations, testing and commissioning
• Liaise with mechanical, electrical and process engineering teams
• Assist with technical reports, progress updates and client communication

Requirements

• BEng Mechanical or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
• Experience in heavy machinery, mining equipment, fabrication or industrial plant engineering
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor
• Understanding of fabrication, machining and assembly processes
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
